Sunset On A Farm

Here is my latest oil painting which I have temporarily called "Sunset On a Farm." I'm working on a better title. It is the only painting that I completed this time since I missed two or three classes. The sky & water I painted with a palette knife or rather about three different ones as I just kept experimenting!

We have one more class this Friday and I may tweak this one a bit, but basically I'm considering it done.

Twilight Saga, Part 4

I finished Eclipse & I must say up to this point it is my favorite book of the series! But, of course, I am just starting Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final (sniff, sniff) book in the series. I've already ordered the DVD of Twilight from the library.
To date my favorite character is Edward, followed closely by Alice & then Bella. It's not that I don't like Bella--it's just that she at times gets so whiney!

So, who is your favorite character?

Browsing the web, I came across some neat websites: (the tip of an iceberg to be sure!)

Facebook here I come!

I finally decided to join the ranks of Facebook users, although I admit my pages still need a lot of work. Here is my fan page for my Etsy shop:

Stop by & tell me what you think I can do to improve it! Thanks!

I'm Reading.....

And I can't stop! That's right, I'm finished New Moon and am on to the next in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, Eclipse. No time to take a photo (I'll explain in a moment) and it is likely that I will be finished with it before the weekend is over anyway!

So I drove my daughter to school this morning with her luggage, etc--she's leaving on a school trip to a competition in MA. After an overnight at their hotel, they are spending tomorrow at an amusement park. So my DH & I are going shopping and out to dinner!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend--I plan to!

Twilight Saga, Part Deux

So I finished Twilight and am on to New Moon--although I admit I should have posted this yesterday since I am almost finished with it already! I love reading & read mainly for pleasure so I don't usually over think whether any of this is plausible or not. But it is romantic!

I just listed some Lily of The Valley in my Etsy Shop. They are the latest in my "Flower of The Month" series. This flower of May signifies humility, sweetness, purity, and the return of happiness. Legend says the lily of the Valley was formed from the tears of Eve after she was banished from the Garden of Eden. I'm also working on some more Morning Glories.

Yesterday, I painted all the stone planters outside & today I plan to plant all the Marigold seeds that I collected from last years flowers. I am also going to try growing sunflowers. All this will be in between getting my daughter from school after her AP English Exam, bringing her back at 2:00 for Driver's Ed and picking her up again at 3:30. That, plus ironing yesterday's wash & making a huge pot of gravy (pasta sauce to the nonItalians out there!) for tonight & to freeze will keep me plenty busy.

Hope you have a great day!

I Finally Did it!

Yes, that's right...I finally decided to start the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. My daughter has been begging me to read it since, well, forever. Since I just finished the last novel I had in the house, I thought it was time before I restock my bookshelf from our local library book fair.

Yup, I'm hooked, too! I can see that I will not read anything else until I devour this four-book series. Have you read it? Did you love it or hate it? Who's your favorite character? Please bear in mind that I am only one book 1, so don't spoil anything.

Hope you all have a great weekend! And to all the Moms out there...Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Cinco de Maya!

Cute Joke for Tuesday

I came across this while surfing the blogosphere & thought you might enjoy a chuckle on this rainy Tuesday--at least it is rainy here in craftymoose land! Oh, btw, the blue morning glories from the previous post sold within an hour of me putting them on Ebay! I don't think that has ever happened to me before!

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
An old friend who once saved your life.
The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?

Think before you continue reading.

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first.
Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back.
However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS....................

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. He simply answered:

'I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital.

"I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.'

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations.

Never forget to 'Think Outside of the Box.'

HOWEVER...., The correct answer is

to run the old lady over and put her out of her misery,

have sex with the perfect partner on the hood of the car,

then drive off with the old friend for a few beers.

God, I just love happy endings!

Share and Enjoy!

Well this week sure flew right by! Just the usual chauffeuring my daughter back & forth to Driver's Ed & evening AP History Review classes. Plus there were 2 days right after school where the teachers gave practice AP tests so, she spent an additional 3 hours sitting for 2 of those.

With the warm weather, I started washing windows & drapes and got the entire upstairs done. I took a day or so to rest up before tackling downstairs, but, "unfortunately" it's raining today & is expected to rain off and on through next Tuesday. I guess I'll have to wait a week or so to finish up.

Just so you don't think I haven't been doing anything....I've posted so photos of french beaded flowers/arrangements that I created this week. I am actually planning to put them up on Ebay this weekend. I have had some recent success there & that is my current plan--to try them there first & put them up gradually on Etsy if they haven't sold on Ebay in a month's time.

Have a wonderful weekend!
