T Stands For Tea Journal

Hi Everyone! Today for Elizabeth's group, I am sharing another page in my Tea Journal.  I must have Spring on my mind....
This spread came together really fast after I came upon this quote: Tea is quiet and our thirst is never far from our craving for beauty.
Some scraps of mulberry paper made excellent grass and the tea tag flower pots worked for me with their flower stems. The clouds are fabric  with puffy paint around the edges--I salvaged them from an old shirt project.

I used a piece of washi tape down the middle which I see is going to need some glue help to stay down.

And now one last look at my t-shirt anniversary quilt which is now finished:
I bought a turquoise bed sheet and used that to back the quilt. I decided not to tie it together after all and stitched by machine around each block to keep the layers together.  To finished it off, I rolled the edge to the front, turned it under and sewed it down for the binding.
In this close-up you can see the appliques I added here and there.  The fishy in the top left corner of the bottom right block actually hides a stain that I could not get out.

Thanks for stopping by!

What a clever way to use those tea pouches. And spring like. I am all about the spring so I love this page. Happy T Day!

What an impressive spread you created in your tea AB. I like how you thought outside the box by using the tea tags, too. This turned out to be a fun, fun spread.

I really like the quilt. I especially like the fact you added the small fish, because now both fish designs are a bit different. It became a great design element.

Thanks for sharing the tea spread and your completed quilt with us for T this week. What fun you created for us.

I agree with other posters, clever use of tea tags and a great spread in your journal. The finished quilt is great. I like the fact that you took time to sew it down instead of using ties.

RE: needle holder on my blog. I bought it about 2 years ago at my local LYS. Unfortunately the store changed owners and they don't carry the item anymore. It is very useful.

Your quilt is amazing....I LOVE all the colors incorporated into it.

Great journal pages, I've found Washi tape isn't the best for the center of the pages either.....always having to re-glue it :(( And I have tried many different brands....ugh!

Thanks for the earlier visit and the comment...Happy T-day

just stopping in to say hello and see what you are doing these days. I am back to painting again. I suppose I should really clear all the sewing off the table but ah well. One never knows, I could do both?
Looks like you are enjoying your journals, fun isn't it.

I have been neglectful of visiting my friends. I am surprised to see that you have not been here on your blog. I sure hope everything is OK. What are you up to these days, are you still beading? I love the quilt.
I spent the winter doing lap top quilt tops. Now I have to wait till my friend can quilt them on her long arm.
Hugs Janice
