Here we go again!

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to say I am alive and well and full into the chaos of getting our DD ready to move back to Grad School on Monday.  After the last debacle, see this post, I am not that excited to do this again.  Her sweet boyfriend has offered to meet us at the dorm and do the heavy lifting which will be a real blessing.  I told my DH (who readily agrees) that if we are going to eat it will have to be in walking distance! Once that car is parked in a legal spot it is staying there until it is time to drive home! Just think, we will get to do this again over the Christmas break.  After this semester she will only have 2 classes left to finish her Masters which doesn't not qualify her for housing.  Rant over!

So, I just wanted to wish you all a happy creative weekend and show you a couple of new things I made:
If this looks familiar, you are right! The first violet arrangement sold so quickly that I thought I'd make another!
I am already getting requests for Angels that I made last year to sell at our local craft fair.  I usually make one Witch before I get started on the Angels, and here she is!

I'll be around to visit everyone next week when I have more time to myself!

CB 16 Family and Thing

"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other."  -Audrey Hepburn

As soon as I saw this quote, I knew it was the one for my next ATC for the Craft Barn Quotes & Lyrics Challenge.
I decided to just have fun experimenting with the background.  In fact, I grabbed whatever was in from of me and just glued it down.  Those hand-holding figures were a different story! This was about my third attempt (and believe me, the best) to make them small and relatively recognizable.

Thank you for stopping by and have a happy creative weekend!

T Tuesday-Garden Colors

Hi Everyone! Today is overcast and threatening rain here in upstate New York.  Nothing really interesting has been happening this past week, so I thought I would share some of the last flowers in my garden.  Sharing on T Stands For Tuesday with Elizabeth and the gang!
Marigolds are one of my favorites! I collect the seeds every year to plant next year's crop.
This yellow daisy was a little shy!
Really not sure what these are, but they are the most delicate shade of blue.
Of course, there would have to be something purple (my favorite color for anyone who doesn't know) in my garden!
I was disappointed that I did not catch the iridescent bodies of these two beetles--but cute nonetheless!
Lastly, a look at my little cacti that I grew from seeds.  They do take some care and patience to grow from seeds.

And here is what I was drinking yesterday:
Caramel vanilla black tea with a splash of vanilla soy milk on ice since yesterday was a hot and humid day.  Thanks for stopping by today!

T Tuesday-A Walk Around The Lake

Hi everyone! Time to link up with Elizabeth aka Altered Book Lover to chat about what is new in our world.  Here is this week's link if you'd like to catch up with everyone or join us.

This week I am taking everyone on a little outing.  I actually went yesterday and walked for 1 1/2 hours around the lake, and even though this post is photo heavy, I promise to keep the commentary light so it does not take you 1 1/2 hours to read it! So lets get started!
I can't believe I was up before the ducks!  Everybody! Into the water!
Ah, that's better! I'll be right in!
This tree has a lot of character--I wonder if it was hit by lightening or disease?
I love the reflection on the water--it is even more beautiful in Autumn when the trees are wearing their colorful leaves!
There is a walking path a good way around on our side of the lake. You can see the road on the left. Residents are allowed to keep their registered rowboats, sailboats and canoes near the waterside. Since our water flows into the New York City (we are 60 miles away)water system, no power boats, jet skis or other powered craft are allowed.  Makes for a more quiet environment, too.
I found this turtle enjoying the morning sun.  He looks like he is in a yoga pose!
I love this weeping willow.  I see a face looking into the water as he gently tests the temperature with his branchy fingertips!
This is the end of the lake nearest us. It is hard to tell, but way behind that point of rocks is the other short side of the lake which borders the "major" 2 lane, 1 traffic light road through town.
I tried to get a photo of our resident crane, but he was in stealth mode and I only caught this photo by luck. And now, as I am sure you are thirsty....here is what I came home to:

A nice cool glass of fresh brewed Hibiscus Watermelon iced tea! Happy T Day, and thanks for stopping by! Hope I didn't tire you with all the photos!

CB 15 Mind & Ignorance

Hi Everyone!  The prompts for challenge #15 of The Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge are mind and/or ignorance.  Once again, I found the quote I wanted to use right away for my ATC, but the illustration idea didn't come until yesterday.  The quote I chose is one from St. Jerome: "The face is the mirror of the mind and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart."
I don't know if you can tell, but I cut out some of the face and replaced it with a piece of mirror paper.  The image was of course high-jacked borrowed from Michelangelo's David. I added an eye and the "raspberry" heart.

Thanks for visiting and for all the lovely comments you have been leaving.  They encourage me to keep going, and I truly appreciate each and every one!
