SOC 4 Week 2

It's time for another Summer of Color prompt from Kristin.  This week's colors are teal, coral, and a splash of bright white.

Rather than let the color decide on the project, I went with an idea that was floating around in my head.  I wove the background using dark and light teal paint chips--you know, the free ones you get in the home improvement store.  Of course the color made me think of the sea. The coral is a piece of canvas painted with bright white acrylic paint with Spectrum Noir marker coral highlights, and the starfish is also a piece of canvas colored with the same coral alcohol marker.

I try to make it around to as many participants as I can, but with such a huge list, it is not always possible.

I adore freebies. They are the BEST. Your lovely art shows what is possible when you have a thought in mind and run with it. That's what made this one work so well. BTW, I LOVE THIS PIECE.

A seascape is a very good idea, why didn't I think of that?! Love your background too.

The colors for the challenge do make one think of the sea. Like your take on it.

I love that you used paint chips for this and in a very creative way, too! Great idea and the sea theme is fabulous.

I am late this week for the challenge, so I decided to start commenting backwards through the list. It is really hard to comment on every entry, for sure!

That's clever, weaving the paint chips. Your coral has branches which suspiciously have "moose-like" antlers. ;) I like how you used all three colors in a unique way.

Hope your finger is healed and back to normal. Have a fun weekend redoing your kitchen, too.
