A Rose of a Different Color

Always remember to be proud of your talents and to let them shine.--unknown

Here is another french beaded rose...in black:
While black roses do exist in nature, they are really a very deep red or have been dyed by florists.

Wouldn't black roses been fun for Halloween or to celebrate the birthday of a friend who is "over the hill"?

Have a happy creative weekend everyone!

How AWESOME. I always thought florists must dye those black roses, but never knew until now. Of course, I love this beauty because it really WOULD work for either a Halloween party or for someone over the hill! Great ideas for marketing as well as a beautifully executed rose.

Wow Debbie, what a beautiful rose, well done you. Lol, I have never tried beading but I can sure appreciate the skill and patience that must be involved.

Your black rose is stunning!

And, acutally, we have a black rose bush in our yard! Got it years ago and it is still alive!

You are correct, it is not a true black, it is such a deep dark red that it looks true black until you get up and look at it closely. Then you can see the traces of red in the bloom.

As always, your piece is gorgeous!
