IA Challenge-Poetry,Words,Quotes...

"I like the laughter that opens the lips and the heart--that shows at the same time pearls and the soul."-Victor Hugo

April is National Poetry Month, and with that in mind, Diane has chosen the theme for Inspiration Avenue this week. I chose a favorite quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson and created this mixed media ACEO:
I used some paper as a sturdy background & added some grass paper to the bottom. The flowers were drawn with archival markers and outlined with micron markers. The flower heads are polymer clay, and if you look real hard, you can see they have faces.

Thanks to Diane for providing wonderful inspiration!

I am also entering this into the 7 Card Draw Blog Challenge, here.

Wow i never would have guessed that the heads were polymer clay. And the faces are amazing.... once you see it they just jump out at you. I bet you could make a moon look very cool with the same technique!

I LOVE the polymer clay faces for the flowers, goes so perfect with your quote, cause I laughed when I saw them ( upclose ) Great job!! waving hi from the chilly, rainy hills of North Carolina #132

I love that -- the earth laughs in flowers!

I clicked the pic larger so I could see those faces, this is a great card. I'd better get busy if I want to make the IA deadline.

A TRUE mixed media piece with the grass paper and the polymer clay faces on the flowers. You always add that little extra touch, and you have inspired me to get out my polymer clay and play. I may do it this coming week. Thanks for your inspiration.
