Allegory of Spring-IA Challenge

Lisa is hosting at Inspiration Avenue this week and has challenged us to created an allegory. In the Spring. Something with a hidden meaning. The only way I was able to come up with something was if I pulled and stretched the meaning a bit. Spring, of course, signals a rebirth, after "death" or dormancy. There is no better creature in my mind that demonstrates this, then the butterfly. From egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to adult butterfly. I skipped the first three phases:

Thanks to Lisa and please stop by on Sunday and see all the other wonderful entries, here.

Have a happy creative weekend everyone!

The butterfly is lovely but I would absolutely love to see the other three phases as well (btw (a homeschool Mom tidbit) this is known as complete (as opposed to incomplete) metamorphosis).

So beautiful. And I really love the metamorphosis meaning in it. The fragile, yet beautiful, is the spring itself. Thank you for sharing!! Have a happy weekend Debbie!!

I took up the challenge and thought it was difficult too. I do think you were right on the money with the beautiful butterfly.

I like the statement you made with this and the colors remind me of western people and places (cowboys/Native Americans, ranches, etc.) You changed you comment form back, yay!

Your use of beads to make a butterfly was the perfect choice for this challenge. So much prettier than a caterpillar, too! Of course, I think your allegory was a lot better than the one I attempted. And I'm so impressed with the bead colors you used as well as their positions. I only WISH I could bead because you make it look like SO much fun!

Love your crystal butterfly! The intricacies of the beading and colors are delightful. I'm happy your butterfly will have a long time on earth, even longer than the counterparts who inspired her. Well done!
