Fresh From The Oven!

A few days ago, my daughter & I made homemade Auntie Ann's Pretzels from a boxed kit I found in a supermarket. We had so much fun pulling the dough, forming the pretzels--which I was surprisingly bad at, LOL,
and decorating them with sea salt and/or cinnamon sugar. We laughed a lot and got flour all over the kitchen, but we enjoyed ourselves. They were quite good to eat, too! Photo credits all go to my daughter.
Yesterday, we drove her back to college. The roads were clear after Saturday's snowstorm, we made good time, and had a nice lunch before driving back home. I miss her already. Btw...we kept the leftover pretzels!

I am sooooooooooo hungry Deb!!!! Did you know that these kind of pretzels are one of my favorite things to eat??? There is a buffet we go to, that has these and instead of eating all the other tones of food, I have like 4 of these pretzels and I am done! LOL! You are so lucky I don't live closer!! Sounds like you and your daughter had a great time!! Great stuff! Big Hugs ;o)

They turned out pretty good, I'll look for that brand in the store, another brand I bought wasn't all that spectacular. A hot pretzel with mustard is a nice treat. Glad the roads were clear for the drive. Our 6 inches of snow disappeared in the last 24 hours- happy about that.

I was watching a video about a month ago (silly, since it wasn't an art related video) that showed a gal making pretzels. It was a very short vid, about a minute or so, but she showed how she made the dough, rolled it out into a long string, then took both ends and twisted them around (don't ask how, I never did figure it out) and had one of those pretzels ready to bake. Apparently, the secret was in the length of the roll she made before she did the twist. Sounds like you and I need to review that video (grin). Glad you had some fun quality time with DD before she went back to school. And her photography skills are excellent, too.
