What's off my knitting needles!

I finished my Baktus scarf from a free pattern on Ravelry by Strikkelise and certainly inspired by several that I have seen on Flowermouse's Blog. You can see one of Lone's here. Now, mind you, mine took longer than 2 days..but I am happy and proud of it! I did mine in stockinette stitch which is knitting every row. It was a fun project in from of the TV at night! I love how the colors shaded!

I also crocheted a cute little bird that was another free pattern on Ravelry--this one by Attic24. I changed it up a bit and turned it into a crow as a little gift for Stacy of MagicLoveCrow. It was very easy to follow Lucy's pattern and she has a cool blog where she shows off many projects, here.

That baktus sure looks beautiful. Such nice colors. And so much fun to see your knitting, Debbie!!! That baktus is so addictive. I always think "oh, I just make one more... " .
I love that bird - but I still need to learn to crochet... You´re so talented!!

Great scarf and cute bird!
Although the name reminds me of a cartoon being very popular when I was a child. It was called "Karius and Baktus" and was about two germs living in the teeth of children and making holes in them. It was funny but also scary. *LOL*

Thanks Deb!

Thanks, Lone! I learned to crochet first as a child and learned to knit later. I like both equally.

Thank you Kokopelli--you are exactly right as for the inspiration of the name of this scarf. If you do a different stitch, she refers to it as a karius scarf. She told the same little story on her blog if I remember correctly!
