Our journey began on July 4 with a 7 hour flight to Copenhagen which arrived 7 am on July 5. By the time our luggage was collected, we cleared customs & were transferred to the pier terminal, a few more hours passed. After a wait of about another 4 hours at the pier, we finally were able to check in and board the Eurodam. After a quick bite to eat in the Lido, we went to our room and slept a few hours before it was time for the life boat drill & our departure. After a musical fanfare & some balloons...we were finally off on the first leg of our trip!

The Eurodam was built by an Italian shipbuilder near Venice. We were able to watch the progress from beginning to end on the Eurodam News Blog which was really fun. A few days before we left, we watched live (on the blog)the Queen of Holland christen the ship. Like all the Holland America ships, it is magnificient and the service and entertainment are first class.
The first 10 days of our 20 day cruise was a cruise through the Norwegian Fjords and Scotland. Stay tuned for highlights of our first stop.
